    Brenda,
Had a look at your new page called Jaywick Scenes on the Jaywick Local History Society Website. They are amazing pictures – makes the beach look bleached; who’d have thought it – ‘The white sands of Jaywick’; makes it look like a coral island!

    Regards,
    Neville

I have just looked at your very good site and my memories came flooding back.My family moved to the Tudor Estate in 1962 with unmade roads and remember the wishing well.I also remember the building of the new sea wall at Brooklands.I have many stories of “Old jaywick” and would love to attend the next meeting.

    many thanks Old Resident.

    • ‘Old resident’,

As our first ‘official’ visitor to our blog may I thank and welcome you for your kind comments. We are open to everyone, current local people, former residents and visitors alike. You will be most welcome at our forthcoming meetings. Although membership is encouraged there is no obligation to join so you could have a ‘taster’ first and then hopefully you will want to join us at future events.
The next meeting, on Monday 22nd. November 2010, ‘Peter’s Jaywick Memories 1929-1939;10 Years Of a Young Boys Life in Jaywick’, should prove very interesting and ‘ring a few bells’ for you.

      Regards,
      Neville

A very enjoyable talk which transported us back in time. If only the author knew how well it was received.
